MP3 files in iTunes are not locked in any way. To get the file, just drag it from the iTunes window to the desktop, and it will move there.

You may be refering to the DRM protected AAC files that are bought from the iTunes music store. Everything from the store is tied to your itunes username and password, and will require both for them to be played on other computers.

There are a couple of ways of removing this protection. The first is to Burn and audio CD with all your music, then re-import it. You will need to re-enter the names, artists and albums though.

The second way is to use software to do this. If on a mac, you can import your song into iMovie, and then export the iMovie.
