System restore is crap!!!!!! have tried so many times with this and would not waste any more time with this. With out knowing your problem its a bit hard to answer why you need to do this. If you have no cd from your supplier then you really need to contact them or you need to get hold of a copy of XP if not got one already. XP will allow you to re format but you will need drivers to get you up and running after re installing most can be obtained off internet. Any more help please contact me and would be happy to help good luck

I think with XP you have the ability to "restore". Try "start""programs""accessories".."system tools". then "restore". You will have to pick a date to go back to so pick one that you know was before you got the pc.

Hope that helps.

There's probably a help feature by Pavillion on your computer. Using the search feature, search for "restore system." It might yield the exact instructions your looking for.

HP's site as directions on how to create recovery disks, too.

If you don't suceed with the above mentioned alternatives you can chat with technical support representatives of HP at:

you should be able to go to system restore, and just go all the way back to the first restore point, dont forget to do all of your security updates again though.
