i am to buy a notebook with core 2 duo processor. what do i need in my laptop for mobile net surfing?

You will need to buy a wireless hub or router. All new laptops(or at least manufactured in the last three yrs) have a built in wireless card for mobile net surfing.

Most laptops now have built in wireless cards- that is, a small radio transmitter that allows the laptop to communicate with the net.
However, they only have a few hundred feet range- how far do you want to be "wireless"? Look up the "Richochet" system as an example to go sattlite communications version- good luck

Either a pc card or some places like Starbucks are wireless equipped. I take my laptop there all the time to do homework. My laptop has a wireless adapter built in so that it will automatically serch for wireless networks.

wireless network interface card like 802.11g and having intel with centrino technology is nice for things like battery life. get a laptop with the wireless card already built in. its better that way. you dont want some card hanging out the side of the computer all the time.

Most laptops today come with built-in NIC so you shouldn't need any additional hardware.
Just make sure it is also comes with built-in wireless connection.
