I have been getting these IM messages from real friends "one" of which I do not believe is tryin to hack my computer. They send a link , the first one was www.geocitiejunebug485.com :) someone told me that was a hacker. another one came from a friend and it said .. www.checkoutmynewpics.com.. something like that. but that one had ;) on both ends....... what is the deal???

WHAT A BONEHEAD !!!! As it turns out , I accidentally erased my disk which contained all of the software product information files, which includes the product code or serial numbers required for installation. I'm no moron and have a hard copy back-up...or so I thought. The location I chose for storage was unfortunately damaged by a leak and all of the data ( written in ink ) is now too faded to decipher. Some programs had been registered with the software companies and others were put on the, "I'll Do It Later" , stack. Guess what .................? So any advice would be most generous and greatly appreciated.

I intend to buy a bunch of networking stuff this thanksgiving sale and I need some advice as to what to get and how to hook it up. I am centralizing a 24port unmanaged 3com switch and hooking up 1 dedicated DVR computer with 4 200GB HDs and a very nice TV capture card, I was also thinking of dumping many of my DVD's and VHS's to the Hard drives. If I do this and have a computer in every room with a HDTV, can I read off of the DVR system and everyone can watch what they want? maybe I will have to copy a movie before watching it due to bandwidth. Also I want tro have a dedicated music PC that serves the whole house, especially the outside deck/pool area and my woodshop. This question might be too big to answer completely, so a few links to how to do all of this would be sufficient.
