If I get an internal hard drive, and buy an enclosure for it would it useable as an external hard drive?

Yes, make sure you get the right enclosure for it though. If your harddrive is SATA, you will need a SATA enclosure (I have not seen any of these at Best Buy though). If you have a IDE hard drive, then you need the IDE enclosure. All external hard drives are is a covered hard drive with a USB cord attached to it. I think it would be cheaper for you to buy a external enclosure, but being able to put in other drives in the future would a nice.

I donot think you can plug it in from the usb port.
