msn messenger, google talk, yahoo messenger, and musicmatch jukebox are the programs that are loading on my computer at startup-

I can get Yahoo, Google, and a few others. But, my webpage, IMDB.com, IndyStar.com, WithoutABox.com, and many others are down.

Anyone know why?

I already checked some answers to similar questions:
Basically, my computer (AMD FX-51, WD Raptor 75gig HD, two optical drives, 1G RAM, Radeon AIW 9800 video card) will hang a few minutes after it boots up. Occasionally it doesn't even get through Windows start-up befoe it hangs. Sometimes it doesn't even complete the BIOS portion. Therefore I am inclined to blame hardware. I already removed and re-installed RAM sticks and boards (video board and Fax board).Possibilities:
1) bad RAM?
2) bad power supply?
3) bad CPU cooling (fan is running, but haven't reseated it)
4) corrupted BIOS (how would I fix that???)
5) hard-drive on the fritz?
What do you think?
I've already used msconfig to prevent unecessary apps from starting, cleaned up registry (funny thing... while the registry cleaner was running, no hangs occurred!?!)

Can you switch hard drives between a Windows XP and Windows ME computer? My XP is down and I want to load the hard drvie onto my ME so I can backup its My Document files and then place t back into XP so I can do factory restore. I'm sure you can do it between two XP computers, but how about an XP and a ME? Thanks.

I'm using a USB to IDE cable to connect my old hard drive to my new computer. The hard drive is already formatted and partitioned, as it was used on my old computer in working condition. My computer sees the hard drive, in the sense that it comes up in the "Safely Remove Hardware" option in the bottom right hand of my desktop, and I can see it in the Hardware Manager, but I don't see it in "Computer Management" or My Computer. I would be able to assign it a letter if it came up in Computer Management, but it doesn't. Any one know what to do?

I have Shania Twain's Up album that came with two CDs: a red disc for a pop version of her songs, and a green disc for a country version of her songs. But when I exported the green disc into my Itunes library, it registered it as red (pop), and when I did the red album, it said red (pop.) The only difference it's two different versions of the same songs with two disc. So why isn't the green (country) disc registering right. Can you help?

Don't get me wrong about the video card choice - notice I choose a mobo that has crossfire support so when the ATI X1950XTX comes out I will surely want to buy that. But for now all I need is a budget GPU.
Do you think the ram is overkill? Also I am not looking for any kindof RAID setup so I also need a reliable, large HD. I also have a Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card that has not been used, and that is why I chose an Intel chipset over nForce4. Any suggestions/comments?

I have been into my Computer and checked the programs, XP Professsional is there but it states that it has not been used since 25/03/2006 I have tried to do program restore but it failed as no changes have been made. Something seems to be hijacking Internet Explorer. For instance, trying to go to IMDB redirects to a casino website and all of the search results on Yahoo and Google redirect to other, lesser search engines.

I've scanned with Webroot Spy Sweeper and McAfee VirusScan and neither of them are turning up anything.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can figure out what's going on and/or deal with it?
