Hi All,

I have got admits from the Lancaster University ,England and University of Strathclyde, Scotland in The communication engineering department.
I am quite confused which one to join as as half my research suggests to join Lancaster while the other half gives me enough reasons to join Strathclyde.

Can anyone kindly help me in this regard?

The ISP in Dubai has figured out a way to effectively block Skype. Previously they had only blocked access to skype.com, but anyone able to get the client from another source was still able to log on and use it. Now apparently they have found a way to filter out Skype logon packets thus preventing people from logging on to the Skype network. This method has been extremely effective and they have managed to cause insane levels of anger and frustration among residents.

I had thought previously that since Skype used a p2p protocol and it was encrypted, that there is no way to filter out and drop Skype packets. However apparently someone discovered a way to identify the Skype logon packets using a proxy (http://lists.grok.org.uk/pipermail/full-disclosure/2005-November/038646.html)
I'm guessing they may be applying this nationwide. I decided to use Tor and can now connect, but Tor is too slow. Alternatively, could I just use an http proxy to tunnel skype? Would connecting to a VPN work?

My macbook would give me headaches like the type you get with low screen refresh rates on traditional monitors. I would also notice a pulsing of the screen when I would lower the screen brightness to a lower setting as if the lamp was about to give out. Anyone else experiance the same thing? I sent mine back. Did I get a lemon or is this common issue?

I have a floppy disk that did have Windows 95 start up on it. I deleted all the icons when i opened the disk. It says there are no items to show in this folder. (0 object(s), 0 hidden object(s))But the pie graph still shows 218 kb of used space. while still having 1.17mb of free space. why is it not all free and is it safe to reuse disks like this or is there something harmful hidded?

My computer started going weird after I left a friend use it to surf random sites. I have a red & white box that keeps on appearing on my PC telling me that my laptop is infected & that there is a critical system error. A symbol that kind of looks like a no entry appears in the bottom right hand corner of the status bar. Okay I don't know much about computers so be kind! As it seems to be with alot of people, I'm getting that pesky little blue star at start up that says my copy of windows in not genuine.....well, my computer needs to be updated badly, so I will purchase what I have to, to be able to update. I want to know how to get my sons deleted internet websites back. I was told by a friend that he went to the control pannel internet options then he hit settings then view files he then deleted them and cleared the history he then deleted the cookies and did the same thing under internet options online how can i access the websites he has viewed without buying any software. talk me through step by step.
