Sometimes the drivers get messed up,.. Try

Start, Control panel, System, Hardware, Device manager. Find the cam, and double click it. Click Uninstall the driver. Back to the control panel and Uninstall any cam software. Then Reboot.

It's so hard to answer technical questions on answers. But here is a stab - it quit working because it is defective or your OS is not recognizing it.... without more information - that is all I can tell you.

Try unplugging it.. restart the computer. Shutdown the computer. Plug it back in and restart. If it isn't defective the computer will recognize it. If you have software/CD, then reinstall if above doesn't work. After that, return it or get a new one.
