confusing and complicated. If computer speeds today had continued to be rated in the simple, linear fashion that they were in the 1990's, about how fast would today's computers be in ghz? Computer clock speeds stopped increasing a few years ago and stopped at around 3.6ghz. Would today's computers (rated this way) be 8, 9 10ghz, or more?

I want to use my old hardive as an external, i bought a new enclosure but it doesnt seem to work-probably because it still has the old information on it and has windows on it. Will F disking the hard drive solve my problem?

if i were to cancel my debit card would i still be able to buy stuff online with my paypal account? i have to cancel it because a company in florida got a hold of my info and they're signing me up for a lot of stuff i dont want and my bank's urging me to cancel the card. but i need to know if paypal requires the debit card.

I have already tried running things like norton antivirus and spysweeper, but neither can quarantene nor delete the virus. does anyone know any way to get rid of it? also, i followed the directions on symantec.com, the ones that tell you to restart in safe mode and stuff, but that doesnt work either. any instructions with a website will be greatly appreciated.

I just bought a new computer (Gateway) because my old computer (eMachines) just pretty much died. I have important documents on there I need to save. If I take the hard drive out of my new computer, install my old hard drive to copy my documents onto a CD, and then put back the new hard drive, will I damage anything or lose data? Also, after all of that, how would I go about installing my old hard drive as the slave? (I've heard that term, but I'm not exactly sure what it means in the computer sense. I assume it's just basically like expanding the master hard drive.) Thanks.

i have a dual-boot computer with Xp-sp1 and 98.yesterday i installed SP2 on xp and all was well during installation.the install was over and it was time to restart the computer which i did and after restart i pressed the xp option on OS choices menu and it entered the xp open screen with the ticker going through one cycle after which it did not move and got struck.i tried F8 and last known good,debugging,directory services,safe mode but it didnt work.so friends anybody out there who can help me please.what should i do.

i need to make a disc for a jutebox i just bought.

the directions say it uses mp3 discs.

they seem to say this disc could hold over 100 songs.

how is this possible?

can i use windows media player?

can i take songs from cds i already own, save them to my computer in media player, and then change them to mp3 format?

since i'm asking, what exactly is a mp3 anyway?

basically, i just need directions... and i already own most of the songs i want on the original cds. i just need all the songs on this one disc now...
