Get rid of Norton, it's just taking up a lot of space and resources and it isn't any better than the next free virus program.
Next download AVG virus http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5
Do not run Norton and AVG at the same time.
Grisoft has a good mal/spy/adware remover called Eiwdo yuou can also download for free. You don't have to be in Safe-mode to run either one of these programs. I've had excellent luck with them and my PC professionals recommended them to me.

down load avast and do a boot scan or does norton do one ?
do you know where this file is ? if so remove it in safe mode
norton should tell you where it is find it in the registry or folder and manually delete it if it comes back after reboot turn off system restore and do it again
this works on most spyware

well try safe mode then find that file its in and deleted everything and then go to start > run > seach up "msconfig" > startup (tab) > then find anything that has to do anything wit that virus or file it should be easy to spot.......then restart to safe mode again then search that file to see if deleted that should work

probably go back to the last day you remember computer working properly and then restore from that point but warning, any works, photos, etc. that you have added since then will be deleted because its just like taking your computer back to that last day it worked ok...i had the blaster worm virus and it cost me 200.00 to find out what i later read in windows xp for dummies.....and that only cost 19.95...lol

1) try trendmicro online virus scan.
2) try counterspy (14 days free)
3) try Windows Live One Care (free)
4) last option is to backup your docs and do clean install

you should defenitively try Avast antivirus. It's free and it's the best. Norton is nothing beside it.
