You can use trillian as mentioned before.

But a word of caution AOL/AIM contains spyware.
MSN and Yahoo work together NOW, and there are talks with Google to connect Google talk in the future, but AOL/AIM is being left out of the talks because it contains Spyware.

My advice really is to recommend to your friends to go with a better system and switch to MSN, YAHOO, or GOOGLE TALK and remove AOL from there computer completely.
I have repaired quite a few computers because of the junk AOL/AIM lets in.

AOL IM is larger effective all you could want to do is bypass into any chat room and initiate chatting. i promise you that someone will initiate back chatting with you. and if that would not paintings bypass and play lots of the video games.

Nope, you will need to get an AIM account (i think mac.com accounts work with them too). You then need something like trillian, or you could use an online version like http://www.meebo.com

No it will not.

But if you download Trillian from:

http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/

It will allow you to be on both networks at the same time.
