When I try to acces anything on my slave hard dirve, I get an error message saying "The hard dirve is not formatted, do you wish to format it now?" I just used the hard dirve a few hours prior, and it was functioning perfectly. Any suggestions on what course of action I should take and weather there is any cance of retriving some of my data off of it?

i know abt wi fi etc but thats not the thing i seek
i am in a new place and since its shared accomodation there is only one land fone line. i wanna connect using any technique preferably wireless from this line to the modem. so that i can access the net. remember i am around 10 metres away from this phone port.

I heard this advertisement on the radio for a promotion that AOl,
Blockbuster and a few other brands were conducting together. The promotion
stated that if a person went to a web site (I forgot it),and filled out a

I bought a new laptop a couple months ago and now that I've put some stuff on it it takes forever to startup. Usually it runs pretty fast but sometimes it freezes up. What can I do to speed it up? I've tried Startup Faster! 2004 and Startup Guru but they don't do anything but make it startup slower.

I have an AMD Athlon machine. I've installed WinXP Professional on it. Everything is working fine there except that I've got two problems on it. Firstly, though the machine has become lightening fast in opening files, folders & running programs, yet this thing is troubling me that when I'm opening a text file like:- Word pad, Excel etc. or even Internet Explorer or any such page and scroll up/down the page it seems like a wave is going up/down through the page. This is very disturbing as I can't fix my eye on a single line while scrolling & I can't do away with it in any ways. Secondly, I don't find the Standby option available in my Log off/Turn off screen. I tried to look for it in the Power options but I can't find it there also.
Both of these troubles were not there on my previous application of WinXP Pro( which I had to remove due to the viruses).
Please help me. Please be detailed in your answer as I have little knowledge of Computers.
