how do wireless laptops work and how do I know if my laptop is set up to do wireless?

I am purchasing a new laptop and wonder if I should go "wireless" or try something like verizon dsl. I don't have cable and still want to use my phone. dial up is way too slow and I can't open anything on the 10 year old computer I have now. What do I need in my new laptop and because there's two cafe's by my work place I was thinking of wireless. How does that work and what do I need to add to the laptop I am purchasing.

what software do i need? Membership or Affiliate?

I have a website, that will allow members to sign up and get paid for referring other customers to sign up. I will also need a way to track which links were clicked on by which member. and have it tracked, sort of like an affiliate, except, that my members won't need to have thier own websites. (it's for people without websites)
I need. suggestions please. Is there something out there like this. or is this a custom job?

I am going to buy a wireless router on Amazon, will it work as if it is new or will it be screwed up?

There is a wireless router i am going to get off of Amazon, but it is used and it comes in the original packaging with everything it originally came with, will it work as if it is new since it is going to have a new computer to work with or will it be just a huge issue?

I received a email supposedly from pay-pal asking to verify bank acct. info & atm passcode? Is that right?

the other day I'm going through my e-mail and I get one saying that we need to verify your Pay-PAL acct. and inder to do that it asked me to verify my bank account number as well as my atm passcode. I didn't respond to that, because the best that I remember my bank does not even know nor ask me for it.

Creative Zen Vision 30gb mp3 player...HUGE QUESTION?

I went to three different stores and the people told me different things. I hate that so much because I feel like if you don't know then don't guess.

Anyways, I am extremely interested in purchasing the zen vision but I need to get one thing clear. I have a Dell PC and it only has a cd-rw drive. I don't have a dvd-rom or a dvd-rw drive. DO I HAVE TO have this in order to lets say transfer my favortie dvd movie onto this device? I need to know...lol

I do have a dvd-rom on my laptop....I am so confused. Basically how does video transfering work when getting video onto a mp3 player device that has video capabilites? Especially if you wanna get a "real" movie on the device...or TiVo shows on it.

My yahoo email won't let me open my pdf file. It keeps giving me an error when I open it.?

I have deleted acrobat reader and redownloaded it and still getting error when opening the pdf file. When I get the file it says no virus and I have 435mb but when I download it still gives me an error. My friend went online to her road runner email and was able to open the file and the pdf worked on my computer but when she went to yahoo email on my computer she couldn't open it as well. But when she got home and went through yahoo email to open the pdf file she can open it at her computer. So what do I need to do so I am able to open the file?

Ok following my question about trying to get my memory to run at dual channel?

i have tried to put the memory in slot 3, where as I have 4 slots in total, I have also looked in the Bios steup, and there is no option to enable dual channel, but I have changed my memory shared to 128, thanks for the info on that, just trying to work out how to get the dual channel to work??? As it is still saying single channel!!!
