I went to three different stores and the people told me different things. I hate that so much because I feel like if you don't know then don't guess.
Anyways, I am extremely interested in purchasing the zen vision but I need to get one thing clear. I have a Dell PC and it only has a cd-rw drive. I don't have a dvd-rom or a dvd-rw drive. DO I HAVE TO have this in order to lets say transfer my favortie dvd movie onto this device? I need to know...lol
I do have a dvd-rom on my laptop....I am so confused. Basically how does video transfering work when getting video onto a mp3 player device that has video capabilites? Especially if you wanna get a "real" movie on the device...or TiVo shows on it.

You will need to use your laptop with the dvd-rom. Then you will need a dvd conversion program to convert the dvd files to a mpeg file or a wmv file. There are many programs out there. The best solution will be to go to downloads .com and search for dvd to mpeg most programs cost somthing to purchase. Many come with a trial so you can test to see if they work. Remember that to do this you need a computer with a dvd-rom as this is the only way it can read the dvd files and convert them.

Ok if you have a DVD of video, then you HAVE to have a DVD rom drive of some sort... Now youre computer doesnt have this, but your laptop does.. So in order to put video from DVD's to your video player you will have to put the DVD in the laptop and from there copy the files to your creative which will plug into your laptop by usb... Now depending on the file with it work, so make sure its the proper format.. .mp3 .avi etc whatever it is, otherwise you will have to try and use creatives software to convert it, read the manual...
Other then that, you can just use the internet for small video files to download and put on..

if you want to transfer dvd movies to the zen yes you need a dvd drive to play it from for it to be recorded

from computer to the zen dont matter
its all data, mp3, dvd files.
but getting the dvd to computer you need dvd drive.
