It's a scam. Paypal will never ask for any passcodes or passwords. I get them myself from time to time and always forward them to Paypal. You did well in not responding.

Don't RESPOND to it!! It's a SPOOF email... Paypal strictly says they never ask for information like that through email! I've received several like it! Most of the time, some of the words are misspelled!

DONT DO IT!!! I get these all the time and it is just fake emails from people trying to scam you. If you want to make sure, when you go to the link they usually provide, type in a password that you know isn't yours and see what happens. I am willing to bet it will "log" you in and ask for all of your credit card info. Assuming you already did it, make sure to contact your credit card company ASAP to report the fraud.

Don't answer it! I got the same email and sent it to Paypal. They confirmed it was fraudulent. The information actually goes out to some other website. Paypal and other secure sites (like your bank) won't ask you by email.

NOT if there is a link included in the email for you to click on. paypal (and any other service asking you to verify info) will simply tell you to log onto their site and sign in first.

Pay-Pal is the most phished site there is! By Phished I mean people send out bogus email trying to get your info.
Forward the mail to spoof@paypal.com and they will email you back telling you if it is a fake, which I am sure it is.

my mom got this same email and so did I. She contacted PayPal directly ( not by internet) and confirmed that it was a spam mail. Dont ever confirm credit card or financial info via email.

No, of course not!!! I wonder who the heck takes those e-mails seriously, and wonder if they don't deserve to lose all their money.
