My desktop computer is an Apple iMac running OS 9.2 - I know, ancient, but I can't comfortably upgrade to OSX (takes too much memory and hard drive space). I also can't afford a new Mac, so instead, I bought a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows XP. I needed at least one PC anyway (for biz reasons), so that's ok.

I know NO ONE makes viruses anymore that infect old Macs, because probably less than 1% of the Mac users out there (already a small number compared to PC users) are running the "ancient" 9.2 OS. My question is: if I accidentally downloaded a file on my Mac with a virus or worm designed to attack Windows PCs, even though it can't infect my Mac, could my Mac pass it on to my PC?

At times I email myself files from my Mac to PC. It doesn't seem like my Mac could send an infected file, because to be "contagious", you have to first become "sick". Since my Mac is "immune" to the viruses and can't even recognize their code, it couldn't be "contagious" in the 1st place, could it?

Wondering what the difference is between the different computer chip. For example, the AMD chips have several kinds (AMD Athlon, AMD Athlon XP-M, AMD Athlon64, AMD Sempron, AMD Turion64), and the Pentium has a few also (Intel Celeron, Intel Celeron M, Intel Pentium 4, Intel Pentium 4 M). I know the difference between AMD and pentium, but how are the other classes different?

We are building a house in Arizona. We will have two or more computers in the house, in different locations. I don't think I want to deal with having hard wiring in every room where we put a computer, because that might change over time. The builder is selling a "Structured Wiring Package" for about $1,000, and it would hard wire up to four rooms for internet, but can't we accomplish the same thing with a wireless router? The builder is saying that a wireless network would not be as secure as doing the structured wiring, and that the structured wiring would be faster. What is the best way to set up high speed for multiple terminals, that is very fast, secure (others can't steal it), and convenient as well? (Currently we have Cox Cable Internet ad they are OK, but not as fast as high speed in the northeast). P. S. I VOTE ON MY ANSWERS! :)

I am wondering how would I put for example a button or box on my website that if someone were to view my website and click on this box and hit submit the next person wouldn't be able to click on this box. Is this possible? And if so, is there a free download of a code I could use? Help!

Every time I turn on the computer and the Windows OS starts, the first thing that appears is a window asking for my password. "Enter your Network Password" for Microsoft Network. I didn't set that up so I just click cancel to let the desktop load.

This consumes my time. I want to be able to turn on the computer and when I am someplace else and I come back, the desktop already loaded.

How can I get rid of that? Thanks
