I need to update my bios. I can only find websites that charge for the flash file. Can't I get it free?

It depends on either the manufacturer of your computer and\or what company BIOS was installed in your computer.

Some computer companies offer free downloadable BIOS upgrades, while others either don't do BIOS upgrades at all and refer you to the BIOS creator company themselves. Which, in most cases charge for upgrades.

First check your computer's manufacturer's website for BIOS upgrades, then, if need be check the BIOS maker's web site.

Go to the manufacturer of the boards website. They should have free updates available.
