Every time I turn on the computer and the Windows OS starts, the first thing that appears is a window asking for my password. "Enter your Network Password" for Microsoft Network. I didn't set that up so I just click cancel to let the desktop load.

This consumes my time. I want to be able to turn on the computer and when I am someplace else and I come back, the desktop already loaded.

How can I get rid of that? Thanks

Go into the network properties and remove the Client for Microsoft Networks. Reboot.

Suggest that you upgrade to a current OS. Win98 is way past it's sell by date.

Assuming that it's Windows XP and not joined to a domain:

With Windows 98 a blank password should work
