I really am not computer illiterate, even though this question will make me sound as though I am. In fact, I am the person my friends and colleagues contact with “how do you do . . .” computer questions. Still I find myself asking a dumb question.
When you save something to your desktop, are you really saving it to the CPU? There is a problem with my monitor at work, and I have a lot of documents on my desktop. I don’t want to lose them when they install the new monitor tomorrow. Common sense tells me that my desktop items will appear on the new monitor. Still, I need an expert opinion for reassurance.
