My 2 yr old Dell XPS shows up with the blue screen of "unmountable_boot_volume" error. I tried to use the repair function on the XP install disc which says it cannot find the hard drive. The dell diagnostics says a "return code 7". Dell says the HD is shot. Windows help says it might be a damaged master boot record. Can the boot record be repaired? I just want to be sure before I throw out this HD and all my data. Can a repair shop get it going if I take it out of the computer and leave it with them?

Operating system - Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2.
I've read that it has already (Service pack 2) support for such kind of devices, but all my efforts to use my new device (ONEXT Bluetooth 06A) are failed. It cannot find driver and tries to install modem. Moreover, when i'm trying to find Control Panel - Bluetooth device - there is nothing there (No such item 'Bluetooth device ' ). What can I do? I can't download big patches, I need something really special.

This is a computer that has been working properly and connecting to the Internet for about three years now, same settings. There are two computers connecting via a cable/dsl router, and the other computer still connect to the Net without problems (I am using it now).

I have no clue what happened. All I can even think is that I had done routine Windows updates that day, and at some point I denied a file access to the Internet, as I didn't recognize it. A mistake, I guess. :(

I have tried resetting TCP/IP, and I have made sure it's there on the connection (1394) and enabled. I tried reconfiguring the entire network from scratch, and I tried a system restore from a week ago hoping I could bypass the problem that way. Automatic detection for IP settings is also a go. So far, no luck. Please help?

I am looking for a good decent free online typing test that not only measures your typing speed and accuracy, but also tells which charactors you tend to fall over on and how often you have fallen over on that charactor, and gives exercises to concentrate on the area of the keyboard that charactor is located in.

Either Online or free to Download will do.

I have a Typing speed of 30 or so, but i am interested in increasing this speed to 40-50.
