I lost out on getting the best answer because I type 10 to 15 words a minute. Sometimes it feels that is al lI type per hour. :(
I think I will start using voice activation.

You can get books about techniques to faster typing at Barnes and Noble online, alot of it like anything else is practice. I can type 45 words on average with no formal training, I have a job that requires it though so maybe I can get them to pay if I need to move faster.

VERY FAST!
See if you can download CRIMSONLAND. It's a very stupid, but addictive shooting game which has a level where you have to type words to kill the alien who's carrying the specific word. Very cool if you want to have fun while learning to type.

i do alot of typing at work. I can type once on a role at 60-70 words. It took me ages but i had to learn for work. Now i dont look at the keyboard, oh but sometimes i have to read over just incase ive hit another key!

it depends on what I'm typing. A paper 32 words per min but if i'm typing like now i can type 50ish
