Whenever I go to play a game that uses the internet connection, it will work fine for a couple moments. After about 5 minutes, my computer will rev up, and the connection will be dropped. The funny thing is that my computer appears to think that the connection is still active, though it is unable to download anything. When I check the phone line, it is as if I had disconnected normally (I am able to make normal calls on it.) If I'm fast enough, I can reconnect and play normally while my computer is "revving", but I lose my connection in the same way as soon as it stops. I have already upgraded the drivers for my modem via windows update.

- I have already attempted to lower my connection speed.
- I have already unplugged everything from every phone line save my modem.
- I don't have call waiting.
- I am not hitting any idle timers of any kind.
- I have already lowered my buffer.
- I have already defragged.

Upgrading my 4400, its got a huge chassis and plenty of room for more HD's iv already got 2 different cd/dvd burners, 256 agp card 1 gig of ram, but i want a system that'll run s ata and pci express, any suggestions on a mother board if its possible?

its either TRUE or False , i tried n/2 then if decimal =.0 then it is even, if it is <>.0 it is odd. or if you have other means to prove that a number is even or odd , it would help , OR maybe you could help me build a flowchart :) but really , i want to learn this !

I ran every virus and spyware program you can think of and It says that it's still infected. It doesn't prevent me from doing anything. I can still sign online, etc. It's just that when I sign on, in the bottom left corner of the screen in the icon tray, there is this icon that appears and it's a white X in a red circle and when i move my cursor over it, it says, "Your computer is infected."...and my cursor is no longer just the arrow, it ALWAYS has the small hour glass beside it as if it's waiting for something to load and it blinks rapidly (is there a virus that makes this happen?). I think my computer is doing alot better than it was but I don't it's completely over whatever it had. PLEASE HELP. I downloaded AOL Saftey and Security Center since I am a member of AOL and I try to click the Virus Protector on but it won't turn on. I'm so desperate and frustrated.
