Tablets are pretty neat too, again you suffer from the loss of bigger memory, cpu, etc. Pocket PC's are portable too, but take alot of patience to type on using a stylus. You can get a laptop, plug in a mouse and keyboard but, again you will pay out the rear to get the same power as a desktop. I use my desktop for most of my work, but have a laptop and pocket pc for portability when I go away. Decide what you mostly are going to do and make the decision based on that use.
