I don't think there are any good reasons myself, but it seems to be the thing to do where I live. By the looks of it, everybody seems to be "towing" some vehicle behind them. But the people here are perfectly mellow and intelligent when you meet them outside their cars.
Is there some hidden advantage to this that I may not beware of? We're talking slow-speed limits of about 40mph on curvy two-lane shore roads, most people cruising at about 45 to 50 though, and the bay only about 3 feet away.
It's got me mystified, but maybe someone with insight can give me some. And no, I'm following along at everybody else's speed, not being slow.
Thanks.

I know this sounds like a provocation, but I know people who swear it's the slow drivers who cause the accidents. I happen to be a slow driver, and I haven't caused any crashes at all in the past 32 years, but I do wonder whether there is more behind this than common sense.
Does anybody know of any studies or scientific findings that indicate otherwise?
I am taking so much flak these days for not speeding and not passing aggressively by my passengers that I am beginning to wonder if maybe I've got it all wrong.
Thanks for your answers in advance.

I have two boys aged 8 and 11. The 8 year old is about 3'11 and weighs about 55 lbs and my 11 year old is 4'6" and weighs about 75 lbs... right now we have a couple of hand me down booster seats from my sister. Our car is equipped with old lap belts in the back and they have had some bad press lately.

Does anyone have any suggestions on new car seats?

I just bought a new 07' mazda and it's the first manual I've owned. I wanted to know if it was possible to accidently shift it from 5th to reverse. I've heard that some cars have safety features to prevent this from happening.

We will be visiting Disneyland with our 18 month old daughter and traveling by charter bus from LAX to our hotel in Anaheim. We will not be travelling in a car at all, only charter buses and possibly a taxi. Are we required by law to bring a car seat for the charter bus? Is it even possible to attach the seat (as there usually are no seatbelts in charter buses)?

I was backing out of a parking space to let another car take my space... there was also another car coming into the small parking area. As I was backing out I hit a car that was not parked all the way into their parking space , they were only half way in their space, and the back of their car was partly in my path, which I could not see because of the other cars.

Am I still at fault for this accident?

Years ago, when I passed my driving test it took me a long time to get used to driving at night, partly because I hadn't been able to book lessons in the evening and partly because of the differences.

Also very few drivers seem to know how to safely drive on snowy or icy roads, I've seen some awful driving from drivers who don't seem to know how to drive in heavy rain or wind.

My Dad taught me how to cope with poor weather conditions, while I was learning to drive, but my driving instructors never gave me any advice on the subject. I understand that severe weather conditions don't crop up too often, but still.

My family was in a car accident back in July. I was driving my husband was in the front passenger seat and our 7 year old daughter was in the back seat. I saw the accident was going to take place and that the other car was going to hit on the side where my daughter was, so I turned our car to have the other car hit me instead. Thank God I did because the doctor at the hospital said that if they would have hit my daughter she would have been seriously injured or dead. Both my husband and daughter were fine. I got bruised and strained and sprained up pretty badly. Now that I shared the story now I can ask the question.

How long does it usually take to stop dreaming about the accident? I am continuing to drive but very paranoid that there will be another accident. Is this normal? With the snow and icy roads I am even more worried. It's not just when I am driving that I feel like this. I also feel like this when I ride with someone else. This was the first accident I have ever been.

How is it determined if a driver is ilegally under the influence of mariuana while driving a car? with a urin or blood test traces of THC will show up that may have entered the blood stream a month prior to driving a vehicle and having a test. Is there a number or level of THC to determine when a driver has smoked and if he is presently driving under the influence?

I don't care what kind of vehicle I have owned, I have always had a problem with my wiper blades freezing during cold weather. As most of you probably know then, their wiping capacity is next to none when this happens, making it difficult to see during one's morning commute. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

.....My little Ford KA has been totalled. I have around £3,500 to replace it. Can anyone suggest a make and model of car that is almost bulletproof? Following the accident, it is really important that the new car has excellent safety features. Any advice would be really appreciated....

Do you agree or disagree with these 'black boxes' that record speed, braking, etc, being installed in all new automobiles? The information can be downloaded by law enforcement and insurance agencies, and may help to recreate the seconds just prior to a crash.

Today morning when I tried to open my car from driver's side it did not open as the key was turning free. So I had to open it from the other side. Just now as I was examining the driver side lock the whole socket came out with the key, leaving an empty space. I am confused what to do and how to leave my car like this for the night (though it has a security system but sill). I have a 1993 VW jetta 4 door.
