Memo to the other person: the #1 lane is the left lane. The highway lane numbering convention is left to right: 1, 2, 3, etc. At least in the US.

The reason why slowest drivers are in the #1 lane when you are driving home is because they are actually reverse-direction commuters, trying to get into work early for tomorrow.

What do you mean by #1 lane?

If you mean the lane on the right (and you're driving in the U.S.), the far right lane is normally for the slower drivers.....

The left lane is for the faster drivers and those changing lanes.

The "slow" drivers may ACTUALLY be driving the speed limit (God forbid!) Someone actually obeying the speed limit! Imagine that!

It's called "Murphy's Law". A well proven and documented phenomenon.

Have you noticed that there might be someone behind you thinking the same thing.
