I heard once that allowing a car with a catalytic converter to warm up is a waste of time and gasoline. Is this true?

I had the pleasure of a ride in a friend's Bentley the other day which among numerous other extravagant refinements boasted a very fine set of unsoiled lambswool overrugs.

My question now is where can I get a set of lambswool overrugs for my second hand 2000 plate Mondeo LX. This equally noble vehicle also boasts extravagant refinements (but just of a rather different type).

I know everyone will agree the addition of some of those rugs would just add an extra thick layer of icing and a cherry to that particular cake.

Apparantly a sign went up to inform me of a temporary parking suspension because of a film crew. I did not use my car for four days and did not therefore see the sign. The council say I have no choice but to go to the car pound and pay £200. Is there anything I can do. Any ombudsman I can ring?

People turn onto a road into the turning lane, and then pick up speed and merge into traffic?

For me, it's scary, because you're not supposed to do this, and I usually slam on the brakes because I'm not sure if they're going to go for the turning lane or my lane!

I've always found this to be odd. When the price of oil drops there is no immediate change in the price of gasoline at the pumps, but when the price of oil increases its takes less than 24hrs to increase at the pumps.

In a few weeks, Mexican drivers will begin to drive in the 48 states. Isn't this healthy in a free market place...lowering prices? What are the US drivers so angry about? They fought wars to expand freedom, right? When all nations are welcome to use America's business model, and infrastructure, the world standard of living will rise. Less income will help Americans relate to our foreign brethren. Our government is not stupid, and allowing Mexican trucking firms to compete will lower Wal-Mart prices even further. Bring 'em on!
