Impossible to say really. All cars are a little different in that respect. If the car is brand new or has an engine in excellent condition then it won't use nearly as much as the same model car that has been used a lot or has a worn engine.

If you go down the A1/M1 way assuming you wish to return without refuelling then you will need about 50 litres based on about 7miles to the litre and assuming a fairly steady 70mph.

To allow for variations in traffic delays and a door to door mileage then add 5litres.

Half that if you are not returning the same way.

I have no idea what a vectra is (im in canada) but check out 'fueleconomy.gov'

If your cars there, you should be able to figure out the average mileage per tank

it depends on alot of things and which newcastle your in (upon tyne or under lime ) , work out distance , average fuel consumption divide distance by consumption= mpg then divide by4.55 =ltrs( 4.55equals 1 gallon not 5ltrs)for example300 miles -30mpg=10gallons=45.5ltrs

depends on the route you take and time of journey and how you drive(ie. harsh accelerating and braking will cause wasting fuel)
