Why is it some cars have two rear fog lamps but some only have one, even if it's top of the range model? At first I thought it was because only the cheaper models had them, but it just doesn't make any sense why some cars have two and some have only one, even though they often have the lenses for two they only come with one fitted bulb.

I have a 40 minute drive to work, going through about 15 stop-lights. I once heard that if you are going the exact speed limit and you pass through one green light, then you should pass through every single one. Is that true? Are stop lights set up to do that?

My wife wants to get 40th anniverary Mustang GT. I want to get a black Firehawk Trans Am with a 6 speed. I know girls like Mustangs and it would be alot less intimidating to drive. But I can't see myself in a car that you see everywhere and isn't all that quick. And if it were an auto it would be a joke. I used to have a Z28 and while I do like some Mustangs such the 03-04 cobra, my neighbor and I used to laugh at the GTs when they tried to run it. She has never even been in a T/A. I would be will to settle for an auto if it made it easier for her to drive. Any ideas on reaching an compromise between the two?

In car magazines when they quote the compression ratio, what does this mean? I know it must have something to do with the fuel/air mixture or something but what does it actually tell me about the car? Is a lower ratio better? I mean torque and BHP are obvious measures but this has always baffled me.

And while i'm on it, what about bore and stroke? Is bore the diameter of the piston and stroke the length of the rod from the piston to crank? And again, what do altering these things do?

We drive an 06 VW Jetta TDI an 99 Ford F250 w/Powerstroke diesel. We brew about 75% of the fuel we use from used restaurant oil. Americans collectively spend $450,000 a minute to buy foreign oil. It is great to reduce our personal petrodiesel consumption. Also, a diesel engine is app. 25-30% more effiecient than a gasoline engine..resulting in increased fuel economy.

i have a grand prix with a 3.8 v6 and 39,000 miles. And my gas mileage sucks, my rpm's run around 2300-2400 at 70 mph. To my knowledge there is nothing wrong with the car at all. I dont understand why it sucks so bad, i havent actually checked it yet but i know it sucks it down fast. Any input or advice would be appreciated!
