... i was watching white lines being painted on the road (as you do) and wondered how they managed to dry so quickly,as almost as soon as they are down cars can drive over them without smudging....does anyone know how?

it is the pigment used in the paint that hits the air and the surface of the road and combines instantly and will form a sort of concrete style grip.

They use a very fast drying paint. It does take a little while for it to dry however and you will pick up paint on your tires during the first thirty minutes or so.

The paint is applied hot and fluid when it cools it drys, it drys quicker in the winter than in summer unlike ordinary paint.

It is special quick drying paint. It is to do with a special compound.

Err quick drying paint, which is not really paint, but a concoction of synthetic materials.
