Is it true that, if you get flashed by a speed camera, you must be sent a letter within 14 days - or the police can't prosecute? That is what my neighbour has been told by a copper - but another mate received her fine about 5 weeks later!

Which car would be the best to fix up?
The car has to be bought new at a dealership. My budget is at max 30k for the car. The cheaper the car I buy, the more I can fix it up. I was considering the new civic si, scion tc, eclipse gt, and nissan 350z. The Z is the most expensive, and not sure if I can really afford it. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Remember, it must be a brand new car under 30k, less preferably.

there is a smell that is similar to gasoline, but not exactly gasoline. once i drive for a minute, the smell goes away, but that is probably because i become use to it. anyway, what could be the problem?

Do you plan to do anything differently in 2007 to improve gas consumption on your vehicles. Buying an Electric Hybrid or a better MPG car would be awesome but not an option for most of us. Perhaps, its a behavioral change like more car pooling and less flooring of the gas pedal. Or a discipline like budeting your gas dollars/gallons and vowing not to cross it.

Seriously considering something to feel good and green about in 2007? What ?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

we would all be
driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon."

In response to Bill's comments, GM issued a press release stating: "If General Motors had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.
3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason, you would simply accept this.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive -- but would run on only five percent of the roads.

6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "General Protection Fault" warning light.

7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying.

8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.
9. Every time GM introduced a new car, car buyers would have to learn to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

10. You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.

My Tomtom 300 has suddenly stopped working. It starts up to the first screen, then sticks there. The only way to switch it off is to press the reset button. I've tried a different card to no avail. Does it have to go back to Tomtom or is there a software reset fix?

Im thinking Jappa, Euro here sorry - American and Aussie r already too expensive!

What Supra or Celica is the sweetheart?

Honda Prelude mid 80s, the most underestimated coupe ever built. Any one else think so? And does anyone like the NSX?

BMW- pretty well built toys, no matter what badge. Anyone else love the 3.0S & 3.0CSi? What bm's the $10k dream?

Any Mercs u wanna own from the 60s-80s? Id pick any SL.

Jags are unreliable but cool, wot 1 u want? I drove an XJS from new for years, they were pleasant miles.

Audi &VW - I dont see it, but maybe a Quattro or GTi - tell me about it.

What of the Skyline & the Zed-car- is the Z32 twinturbo the prettiest ever Jap coupe built?

Or does someone think the 3000GT/ Mitsi GTO owns that title? Does EVO feature?

What Subaru even makes it here - the SVX maybe - too many WRXs to be classic, but what a microweapon they are!

The carparks your oyster, what gets the comments? What one you wanna keep for later on? $10k limit

What is the best hybrid vehicle and what is your postive comments about that vehicle please? Any supporting information you have a consumer guidance company is welcome too!

I imagine some will go with dependability, retaining value, getting the most for your money, endurance/power, etc...

ALSO: Do you think these hybrids will last and possibly become as popular as regular vehicles?

Thanks!
