A car doesn't have a set amount of miles before it becomes worthless. Some cars are know for running well for a long time, ie Toyota Camery's, Honda Civic's, etc. If you remember what a "K" car is, then you know of a vehicle that was not known as being dependable.

That being said, if you take care of your car, then it will last for a long time. A car isn't really worthless until the value of the vehicle is less than the cost of repairing it. Even then it still holds some value to someone. Some wrecking yards will give you a minimum of $50 for your vehicle regardless of the condition.

Many vehicles today, if taken care of properly can get over 300,000 thousand miles on them. In my opinion a car is only worthless if it isn't running any longer.

There are no miles to a car that make it worthless. It is how you maintain it. If you like the car take care of it and it should take care of you.

There's no such thing as a car's miles running out. The odometer counts up, not down. Anyway, even after several hundred thousand miles, the car is still worth something. It can still be used for parts even when it stops running.
