Depends on the course and your income. Personally a turbo Porsche, although I love the Skyline. Both have unbelievable handling. But if your street dragging then big muscle wins, there's no replacement for displacement. Lightened Pony car with supercharged or twin turbo 400+ci big block V-8 + nitrous

None!! If you want to kill yourself I don't mind but racing on the street kills innocent people.
If you want to race, do it on a track or private property. Every yr here in Tampa we lose 4-10 kids to street racing. Also laws are very expensive when you get caught and you will as you can't drive faster than a radio or helicopter. And that raises your insurance a lot.
Join the SCCA or NHRA and do it right.
Our electric race cars will beat you anyway, check out plasmaboyracing.com for better info, great drag vids of EV's beating nitrous Vipers, ect.

one that looks slow enough to get action( if you show up to the local hang out with a TOP FUEL DRAGSTER you will easily be the fastest but NOBODY will race you) and one that hides its go fast goodies ( nitros under seat ,cast iron heads rather than aluminum because its the ports that make power not the material,283 air cleaner on a 406 chevy-get it) and then you must learn the fine art of NEGOTiATION -ALWAYS give the other guy the GO( oppertunity to move first) so he can't say you went first ,just adjust the lead he gives you accordingly-bad mouth YOUR car and say how he will easily beat you heads up so he HAS to give you a head start cause everyone KNOWS how much better he drives and how much faster he is ,RIGHT! WINK WINK !!

It depends on the kit. My first thought would be a Civic, good for a sprint. For distance and endurance, of course a Viper would outdo the Civic, but you did say "street race," so we're looking for quicker start and lighter body. So, Civic.
