I honestly believe that there are less than 100 of us left in the United States. We are an endangered species. Why does everyone only know how to drive an automatic car (and most of them even suck at that)?

I'v just started driving lessons & my driving is not that ok. I have problem with clutch control & bitepoint & steering. But i can't seem to relax & progress further as the 3 driving instructors i've gone through seemed to be on my case. I believe if i can get a few chances to leisurely drive around for a couple hours without being asked to be perfect all the time i'll get really improve on the actual driving, then afterwards i can concentrate on road signs etc. I just want to know how to move the thing first,be confident like i'm taking walk in the park. Then later i'll be happy & relaxed to start observing other important aspects of driving so i can take & pass a test. My colleagues/friends with cars seem to be too busy these days for me to use their cars.
Any ideas will be most appreciated. Thanks very much.

I mean, ok, i saw the movie about Who killed the electric car. I was so mad, angry and betrayed. If we have the technology, already was in play, google EV, or electric cars, Why arent we out iraq, why arent we all protesting these car companys, oil monglers who destroyed perfectly good cars. I mean, my aunt is in San fran and she saw them on the road, her friend, a artist had one, and they had 0 emissions, no exhaust. Wow, I am so betrayed, we were all betrayed.

I'd like to learn how to drive stick-shift sometime and I've been wondering how to use the clutch, and when to shift, and things like that. Any input would help a lot!

If so, how often and how much does it cost? I used to live there but didn't have a car at the time. Florida stopped requiring them...but I am moving back to Cali.

I have 2006 Toyota 4Runner with tire pressure monitoring. The low pressure indicator light comes on intermittently. When I check the tire pressure it seems ok at 35psi (warm). The manual says 32psi and the sidewall says 44psi MAX. I checked Bridgestone site but could not locate tire pressure charts. So I do not know if the tire should be inflated more or if there is a fault with the sensing mechanism (especially given the intermittent nature of the indicator light and not just before driving either). Thanks

I'm thinking of getting a SUV. I don't really have a practical need for one but my fiancee' really wants something to prove to people that "she's made it", and she has her heart set on a SUV since that's what all her friends drive. What do people think of SUV's in general. I don't want to spend alot on something that is "so last year".
