I'v just started driving lessons & my driving is not that ok. I have problem with clutch control & bitepoint & steering. But i can't seem to relax & progress further as the 3 driving instructors i've gone through seemed to be on my case. I believe if i can get a few chances to leisurely drive around for a couple hours without being asked to be perfect all the time i'll get really improve on the actual driving, then afterwards i can concentrate on road signs etc. I just want to know how to move the thing first,be confident like i'm taking walk in the park. Then later i'll be happy & relaxed to start observing other important aspects of driving so i can take & pass a test. My colleagues/friends with cars seem to be too busy these days for me to use their cars.
Any ideas will be most appreciated. Thanks very much.

I would find an large empty parking lot. You can practice your backing, turning, stopping, and parallel parking and all in an empty parking lot. You don't need to have an instructor in the car with you as long as you have permission to use the lot and it isn't a public parking lot. If you have to use a public parking area then you will need to have your permit and a licensed driver with you. Just tell them to shut up and let you do your thing. At least in a empty parking lot if you make a mistake you can keep trying it over and over again without interfering with traffic.

Many, many moons ago I started before the legal age by punting an old banger around on private land (with the landowner's permission). When I was legally old enough, I'd already worked out basically how to use the controls before tackling the road and traffic and this made it a lot easier.

If, as you say, you don't seem to have any friends/relatives, colleagues willing to help, I'd be inclined to speak to several other driving schools and talk about your feelings on the matter - I'm sure you will find an understanding instructor eventually.

Good luck!

the only thing really would be for you to find someone over twentyone with at least 3 years driving experience. you will need to get on their insurance to legally drive their car. if this fails then some driving schools offer simulated driving courses so that you can get used to driving without having to drive alon gside real people. if your having trouble with your driving instructure i suggest you speak to the driving school to see if they specialise in instructors especially capable at handling nervous drivers. thes instructors should be on your back less as they will realise that any critisisms may just make things worse. i wish you luck wih any of these suggestions and hope that they come in useful.

as crazy as it sound, i self taught myself a lot of control, from the arcade games, you just need a lot of quarters, just make sure it has a seat pedels, and wheel. its a somewhat relaxing place, and you will gain control taht way, then after you feel that you are getting it try to get out onto a back road in a beater with a friend or family member, and work up. Good luck.

You are not allowed at anytime to drive on your own, but you can have a friend or parent as long as:
* they are 21 years and over
* held a licence for a minium of 3 years

You're better off paying for professional instruction, you're fully insured then and wont pick up any bad habits from well meaning friends and family, its worth it believe me

Do they offer driver's education in your school (provided you are in high school)?
