I mean, ok, i saw the movie about Who killed the electric car. I was so mad, angry and betrayed. If we have the technology, already was in play, google EV, or electric cars, Why arent we out iraq, why arent we all protesting these car companys, oil monglers who destroyed perfectly good cars. I mean, my aunt is in San fran and she saw them on the road, her friend, a artist had one, and they had 0 emissions, no exhaust. Wow, I am so betrayed, we were all betrayed.

We can have more electric cars - it just takes more people like yourself to take the initiative. We can't wait for the big car companies to build them - they don't want to do it. But there are many small entrepreneurs doing it.

Why doesn't anybody know these cars exist? Because small companies don't have the ad budgets to get their message out. But if you buy one, and spread the word, more people will buy them - the EVs will get better and better - and the rest will take care of itself.

Don't believe the disinfo about electric cars polluting. Electric motors are several times more efficient than gas engines. Power plants burn fuel at much higher efficiency than your gas car does. And distributing electricity by wire is far, far more efficient than trucking fuel around the country.
*
All these efficiency improvements mean that the EV can travel farther on less energy. That means much less pollution per mile, no matter what the power plants burn. Plus, a large percentage of electricity is now made from non-polluting sources.

Well, as I am sure you saw in "Who killed the electric car" it was a very well kept secret about the uses of the electric car prototypes in California. It is because of this and the secrecy around it that it was kept so secret. Another part of it is that for the companies it is not economically sound. If you think that the gas companies didn't throw any money towards the car companies you'd be dead wrong. Plus with an electric car you have a much longer turn around for cars and with the exception of battery changes the cars would last a lot longer. So with the electric car you have two of the largest corporate groups, Automotive and Oil fighting losing. And to address the part about how electricity is made using non-renewable resources is very close minded. Electricity is commonly generated using one of the three methods. Burning coal or in rarer cases oil, or lumber, Nuclear power plants that have a ton of output and are relatively safe, and hydroelectric dams that waste absolutely nothing. And you also can't forget about the increasing amount of wind power that is just popping up everywhere. Electric is the way to go, and if you're willing to spend the money, for under five grand most cars can be converted to pure electric, not just a hybrid.

Where does the energy come from to run them. Nothing is 0 emissions, you have to pulg them in to get the power, but where does the power come from? also the batteries that are used to keep it running are hundreds of dollars, and when the start leeking where do the batteries go?. Electrict cars are unpractle. If the car is tured off, and the car is bumped and the car moves even less then a half inch, you have just fried the entire electricle system. Not many Mechanics are licenced to work on them because you have to have an electricians licence and mechanics licence, and there are hundreds of speciality tools needed to fix them.

Hey, electricity is made, mostly, from NON-RENEWABLE resources! The best bet for "green" cars is ethanol, and bio-diesel. I for one don't want to give up my fun, performance car for a battery operated car that I plug in to the wall next to my toaster! You know there's MUCH easier ways to cut green house gasses than getting rid of cars, look it up...
