i have a Honda CM125 four stroke with CDI.

the bike was having trouble starting-just clicked under the seat and didn't crank- but bump started fine.
i put WD40 on the contacts- ran perfectly.

10miles in it stopped.

it wouldn't bump start.lights ect. work, KILL switch is on RUN, fresh fuel, checked contacts, fuel lines ect....NO STARTER.

it cranks but won't fire.

but the spark plugs fires.it smells of fuel. it wont bump start.

i replaced the spark plug and battery, and coil, and CDI unit-no difference.

ps.the bike doesn't have points.

Does any one know the price range of a pepboys bike? I tried too research it but pepboys dnt have it on the internet. if u can post how much a 100cc or if u kno about another cc price u can write it. but dnt forget 2 tell me wat cc it is. thanx

The deal with the 750 fell through so I checked the web and found a local bike salvage yard to see what they had. I found two good possibilities, neither of which need much work to get running again.

80ish Yamaha 400. It was running when it was brought in for a trade but it looks like it will need a new headgasket. No windshield, tires are good, odo reads 2900 something miles. Seat needs upholstered and a new rear tailight mount but otherwise its in pretty good shape. They're asking $400 for this.

80ish Kawasaki 440 LTD. Ran recently until the starter went out (A rebuilt one is about $150 on ebay). Has windshield, sissy bar, side leather bags, good tires. Has 19,xxx miles. They want $450 for this.

Anyone suggestions as to which one I should lean towards? Both have clear titles (not salvage) and I could probably have either one of them running within a couple days.

I have a 95 gsxr 750, the bike is nice and very fast. But after i had it down last winter and rode it again this past summer, it had a lag. When i gun it in first gear it lagged a little bit, and was much harder to get the front end up. It wouldnt stall but the rpm would drop a lil before it picked up and lag.

I have checked my jets, put new plugs and wires in it, tuned the carbs and nadda. I dunno what the heck is goin on. The bike is still a rocket, but i notice, and it anoys me. Its almost like it boggs down a little. could i have over looked something to do with the fuel or spark? ANy good ideas? I have it apart in my garage as of now for misc upgrades and would like to fix this before i put it back together and start fresh in the spring.

i mean have you had a oh my god moment were you almost crashed or somebody cut you off and could have killed you so you decided to take a break for like 2 weeks or more. Ive done that 3 times, once a chik was on the phone and changed lanes withot looking and ran me off the road i almost lost control of the bike. another somebody just slammed the breaks in front of me and i almost flew over the handle bars and another when some car almost reanded me and came to a screching hault about a foot from my rear tire at a red light.

okay im brand new to ride, should i buy a new honda rebel for 3000 or a 15 year old one for 1500? whats a good starter bike under 3000? if i buy it from an individual where can i take it to get it looked at? will they charge me for it?

I'm not even sure if it's a NZ-500, but looks like it...anyway, i know it's a pretty old motorcycle, from 1940s or something.
Nothing on it seems to work, maybe the km counter works, besides from that, nothing. everything is in its right place...it looks so beautiful, and i just wan tto know how much will it cost to make the engine work again and everything...
