i have a Honda CM125 four stroke with CDI.

the bike was having trouble starting-just clicked under the seat and didn't crank- but bump started fine.
i put WD40 on the contacts- ran perfectly.

10miles in it stopped.

it wouldn't bump start.lights ect. work, KILL switch is on RUN, fresh fuel, checked contacts, fuel lines ect....NO STARTER.

it cranks but won't fire.

but the spark plugs fires.it smells of fuel. it wont bump start.

i replaced the spark plug and battery, and coil, and CDI unit-no difference.

ps.the bike doesn't have points.

You obviously have a starter problem ie starter drawing too much current or dirty comutator , this explains your click to start with made by solinoid, and when it finally cranks you cannot get it to fire , weak spark. remove your starter and overhaul ie.. new brushes and clean up or recut comutator on starter armature this should increase power to plugs which should give better spark and make it go

Well.... many refer to motorbikes (motorcycles) as Iron horses. I would have a hard time choosing between a fast motorbike and a live, fast horse. Cars are too confining.

Sounds tobe a wiring issue. You need to back test the system. Use a Ohm. Meter. Check all wires. I bet one is grounded out or is corroded

Check all your safety switches and fuses , I had a kickstand with a safety switch and it was hanging down just enough to make bike not start god bless

maybe you have an overflow..drain it and try to force start the engine by rolling downhills at neutral and put on 3 gear when you got some speed

Does it have a choke and if it does, are you sure you are engaging it correctly. Sounds too simple, but sometimes the silly things can drive you crazy.
