I don't know how many times I have went to change lanes and there is a "motorcycle" in between the two lanes right in the blind spot. Are they suicidal? If I was to hit one of them would it be MY fault seeings how they are NOT in a LANE? Oh sure you can look first to see if all is clear but they seem to come out of no where.!

Some people tell me 20,000 miles, but more experienced Harley Davidson guys tell me that somewhere between 40k and 60k miles the engine will likely need to be rebuilt. Problem is, there are few Harleys made in the last 10 years that have that many miles on them. Anybody have a Harley that was made in the last 10 years that needed a rebuild? How many miles were on it when the work was done?

I know I will hear from a lot of riders that it's their choice, not a state/govt decision, OK fine. That's not the question.

The question is, has the seriousness of his accident and what could have been a life-threatening or career-ending injury changed your stance on the issue?

As for me, I'm a firm believer in seat belts, air bags, helmets or anything else that will help keep people safer. To me, choosing not to use them is "survival of the fittest" at work.

consider that the $7,000 includes helmet, taxes & other accessories. I'm debating between the Aprilia Scarabeo, Suzuki Burgman (for scooters) & maybe the Suzuki sv 650, V-strom or Honda equivalent. (Motorcycles)

The scooters are ideal in that they average over 40mpg even the 650cc Burgman, they offer more storage space, larger gas tanks, and more features for the price, but for the same amount you can get a good motorcycle. I've heard lot's of positive remarks and reviews over these scooters, and a lot of scooter satisfaction among motorcycle enthusiasts in the last several months, I'm leaning in that direction, but not quite sure what go with.

I'm also not sure if motorcycles are more expensive to insure than scooters, they're both high theft.

Particularly anyone that's seriously looked into these scooters and knows what they're capable of and has done this research...What would you do?

I'm 26, 6 foot 2 inches and 200 pounds. Is a YZ a good bike for Trail Riding? I do not race but just want a bike that can get me around.

Also, I heard that 4 strokes are easier to take care of but harder to fix. Is this true?

Wow - I can't believe how much this guy hates the Harley lifestyle. I spent some time reading through his site, and although he makes some really good points, I can't believe that this guy hates Harleys. He calls Harley owners "flag slathered retards and trend humping fashion lemmings". He's not an American in my book. Check out his site. http://www.goingfaster.com/angst/main.htm

Neighbor of a guy I work with is selling a 1948 Indian. He claims it has 8 original miles on it, which I find hard to believe but is supposedly true. Its unrestored, but has been garaged and is supposed to be in pretty decent shape. Anyone know what this is really worth? He's selling for $27k.
