I say Honda makes the best ATVs. i have a 1998 Honda recon and i never had to take it to the shop or purchase any new parts for the motor. I sunk it twice and the water went over the handle bars which means it got into the intake and carburetor. All i did was let it sit for a couple hours and change the oil then try to start it and it started after a couple trys. my friend has a recon also which he pretty much abuses everyday lol but it still manages to run perfect each time.

Polaris- best suspension no questions asked.
Honda- most reliable engine and best racing atv's such as the trx 450 which is the most popular for pros when they race. but honda does not have great "mud boggers."
Yamaha- has the only other pro racing quad which i don't know the name of except it is a 450 as well.
