Check brushes. Easier to replace than complete alternator, also cheaper, if that's the problem.

Drain the oil
Remove the L crankcase cover
Remove the flywheel
Remove the stator
Reverse procedure to install


Your model doesn't have brushes.
If you're having a problem with the charging system, you should have mentioned it. It could be a weak battery not able to hold a charge, bad regulator/rectifier, a problem with the wiring in the charging system. Don't just start changing parts, until you test and find out what's wrong.
