I have heard that if you commonly use cruise control you will increase your fuel economy. Has anyone actually tried this? Is it true? What percentage of mpg is increased?

You know, I could go all over Dallas and Ft.Worth for $70 a month by using the bus and rail service-- about what my car insurance costs-- but I don't do it! There's no bus service in my suburb, but my son could drop me off at a bus stop less than five miles away, or I could ride a bike. I dislike layovers, busloads of sweaty people taking all day to cover the span of a 45-minute auto trip, but that doesn't explain why the nice quiet trains with cafe-type tables and booths instead of traditional seats are underused. If we were sensible, we'd put out $70 a month just to have the option of traveling sometimes without contending with traffic and gas prices. "I love trains," a nice Boston business woman I met at the "T" said. "I'd hate to fight Boston traffic to get to work every day! I could have rented a car to the convention in Dallas, but who needs it?" She's right! I don't smoke, but cling to the driving habit. Crazy or what?

I really mean how dumb are these people who sacrifice control for the appearence of cool which is just that, only the appearence of cool. Are these people just posers? Come on young people, please be a little more (or a lot for some of you) responsible!

Every time there's a funeral and there's a coffin car or whatever you call it and they have there hazard lights on why do people stop for them. I can't wait for an opportunity when a car ahead of me is extremely far away so it stopped and went forward and when the group of cars come close I would only go faster or go the same speed. It's not like i'm going to jail. I was never informed in any law making me stop for them in Drivers Ed or any drivers course. One time the car was by the cemetary and blocked the street. I would honk the horn speed around him I hate them. I would only slow down if a cop was with them which I only saw once.

So why do people stop for these cars?
(I would never)
Why does a car block the street so everyone can get in the cemetary?
(It's illegal maybe I should do that so me and my friends behind me can get to school where it's crowded in the morning.)

I am referring to when people follow behind a hearse during a funeral as it drives the coffin to the cemetery. Usually the people go very slow and have their hazards on. However, is this something they just do, or do they have to get a permit? Do they have to follow strict guidelines such as not being able to drive during rush hour or on highways or heavily populated roads? I only ask because I seem to only recall seeing these funeral lines (for lack of a better way to describe it) driving only on like back roads, and sometimes they have police escorts with them – sometimes they do not. Is that optional or what?

I'm going to be driving from Naples to Disney World on Sunday May 13 (early morning so I hope traffic won't be an issue). In the Past I've always gone I-75 to Tampa and then taken I-4 over to Orlando. Mapquest has suggested that I take take I-75 to Port Charlotte and then take US-17 up the middle of the state. Is this way really faster? It seems like US-17 can't move nearly as quickly as I-75. Which way should I go?

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. So that's the area where I'm looking for an e85 gas station. But I'm sure there has to be a map on the Internet somewhere that shows all the e85 stations around the USA.

There was one of those highway department signs that said "your speed is". I had my cruise set at 55 and when I went through, the sign said 51 mph.

I thought I would just have to subtract 4 miles from whatever speed my speedometer said, but my husband said that wouldn't be right. He said that as my speed increased, so would the difference in the mph. So how do I figure out (without being stopped by a patrolman) just how fast I'm traveling?

People who drive around with handicap tags and talking on a cell phone. This bugs me. Fine be handicap but take your tag out of the window and use it for parking only.
