lets get real here there is or never will be an energy shortage with gasoline.What causes shortages is the high demand that consumers use.Now think about it energy shortage is just the latest excuses they use to drive up the cost which makes all the oil stockholders rich.
Something else to think about .All the car manufacturers are spending millions on research and developement of hybrids and alternative fueled vehicles.Now if you held stocks in oil companies wouldnt this scare you . So before alternative fueled vehicles are sold why not make your money in oil by jacking up the prices now

no way! I can remember when they lowered it to 55, it took forever to get where you were going, just use common sense and I'm sure the price of a gallon of gas will slow people down enough to save gas or just don't drive if not necessary.

Why should they?
No one would go that speed limit anyways.
The majority of drivers do not even go the speed limit.
It'd be a waste of money, nonetheless.
