I read they were second to last in reliability. Is this because they cost so much to repair, or are the cars actually flawed? If so, is the flaw due to bad engineering or poor parts and what are the general flaws (due to electrical issues, transmission, engine)?

I am having problems starting my 1972 VW Bus, It started before the winter time. I took out the spark plugs, (out of the engine, but still attached to wire's) and grounded them to the engine block, I tried starting it to see if there was a spark between the spark plugs, and there wasnt. So i now know the problem is the enitial spark, I checked the distributer, the caps look fine and there is no condensation anywhere to be found. Can anyone give me advise for what to buy, or test to see where the problem is? Thank you

If the check engine light comes on for my 2003 VW Beetle, and I fix the problem myself, will the light go off or do I still need a mechanic to reset the computer?

Is there a web site which lists CO2 emissions of cars?

I have a 1993 Mk3 Golf GTi 8v, but I would also be interested in checking out some other cars for people at work.

Also is there a site which tells me exactly what tax bracket my car will be in?

There is cover on the bottom of this model vehicle. I'm wondering if there's a way to remove that cover myself, so that I can change the oil. Or maybe there's a resource that will tell me how to do this?

I bought a 01 Jetta GLS 2.0 4cyl 5spd not turbo I really like the car but I already replaced the starter and now (not even two weeks into this) in the mornings it runs REALLY rough, it's not that cold where I live (N.Carolina) maybe 50-55degrees in the mornings but it starts fine then I get on the road and it bumps, and sputters and changing gears and pushing the gas doesn't help it's like it just can't go today I had to pull over and let it rest then I went on and it was fine like nothing ever happened, what is wrong? did I buy a lemon? It's done similar things before but not to the point that I had to pull over. Please tell me what to check I have a VERY limited knowledge of cars so be specific, and don't just say take to a mechanic after the $300 starter that's all I need. Also the check engine light is on and the mechanic said it's the O2 sensor he said that may make the car sputter, but I thought the O2 sensor was just for emissions checking so who really cares if it works?
