where the hell is the master cylinder on a 1980 vw vanagon?

i know where the reservoir is under the dash, but where the hell is the master cylinder itself?

Follow the pushrod on the front side of the brake pedal. I'm thinking under the floor or behind the grille.

it might be under the floor mat try to get to the bare metal just below the brake pedal if you see an access plate then you found it that's where it was on my 1951 ford good luck

I think at the other end of the brake peddle.
