Since my car has not been used for about 6 months, the battery has died. Dealers charge an arm and a let - so I was wondering are there any alternatives to buying the battery from the dealer? Any recommendations

2001 MPV. Was missing and hesitant to go when accelerator was pressed. Diagnostic code showed missing on cyl 3, so changed plugs and wires.

Drove OK for couple of weeks then suddenly it is slow to accelerate from a stop when accelerator is pressed. It seems to respond better when less pressure put on accelerator; in fact if you push accelerator too hard RPM increases to 4k, but there is no real increase rate of acceleration.

Once it is up to speed, car seems to run better, but still not responsive if you try to accelerate at higher speeds.

The car also loses speed as well as RPM when going up steep hill. It is still unresponsive when you press the accelerator a little, but when depressed more the RPM jumps to 4k with little increase in speed.

The check engine light is not on, so I am not sure if a diagnostic tool will pull a code.

The car didn't come with an owners manual nor did it come with an underdash fuse box cover. Can anyone list the fuse box locations or give me an address on the net for the fuse box? I know a few fuses need to be changed to fix a few problems and I don't want to have to go through each one for a "trial and error."

If rotary engines are so great (I am not saying they are not), then why does Mazda only offer one vehicle in their lineup with one? Why doesn't Mazda differentiate themselves from the pack and offer at least a few vehicles with rotaries, if not a rotary option on all of their vehicles?

Well, to make a long story short, my timing belt for my mazda car slipped last spring. I had the timing belt and tensioner replaced at the dealership. Then the car started to make a noise after i drove it on small roads for 10 to 15 minutes. I took it back, they said it was the idler bearings. The car made noises again after driven for 10 to 15 minutes. Then winter came, the car no longer made any noises. Now spring time is here, and the weather is warm again, the car now makes noises again in the timing belt area after it is driven for 10 to 15 minutes on small roads. When the car is driven on freeways, it doesnt seem to make as much noise if not any, this usually only happens while it is driven on small roads, where there is stop and go and during warm seasons such as spring, summer, and fall, but not winter. Does anybody have the solution to this problem? My car is 2000 Mazda Protege Es with 1.8L engine and 4 cylinder. Can it possibly be the two cams or whatever you call it?

OK...I have an 85 Mazda RX7 and the thing is ok except from time to time, some times more often than not, it "surges" I am not sure how else to describe it. But this only happens when I reach 40 MPH or more and does not happen everytime, but more and more lately. Is this possibly a problem with the fuel line or possibly the mix of air and fuel? Anyone know? Or anyone have car with similar problems?
