On my Mazda sales sheet, sticker-ed on the inside window of the car, it states that my car was made in Hiroshima, Japan. Besides the previously stated comments on the percent of Ford ownership, the relationship between a Mazda and a Ford is that of "Fraternal Twins". Twins are born sometimes minutes apart, but have their own subtle differences that sets them apart. The specs for a Ford part does not match the specs for a Mazda part. Another words, the parts are not interchangeable. Back to my reference to "Fraternal Twins", the C-1 chassis is made from the same "Beholder", but the products/parts are tuned and spec differently based on the brand. It is to this extent Mazda separates itself from Ford. Mazda's "Zoom Zoom" mantra defines itself wth eco-friendly cars, that have punchy engines and superb handling. It is not a power brand it is a finesse brand with sporting intentions. Ford does not define itself as such.

The Mazda 3 is completely a Mazda product. Ford only owns around 33% of Mazda because ford makes Mazda's SUV the tribute and the Mazda 6 is made in the same plant as the ford mustang which is in Flat Rock Michigan. The rest of Mazda's products are made in Japan. So no there are no ford parts on the Mazda 3.

I own a mazda3 and The brakes on it are the exact brakes on a ford focus. It is true the S40 frame is shared with the mazda3 among other ford company cars. Ford helped engineer the amazing MZR engine which i learned is in the top 10 engines of 2007. Ford does this with a variety of the companies they own. The new mustang platform came from the Lincoln LS. Also the suspension design also came from the Lincoln LS and straight into the Mustang. I also believe the airbags in bulk are from ford. The engineering of the frame started out with the volvo. Mazda just decided to drop a much nicer engine in it :)

Since Ford Owns Mazda, and Ford started using foreign parts in their vehicles take a wild guess as to which country the parts came from. I know that some Mazda vehicles have Mitsubitshi transmissions and engines which are Japanese, so its basically just a mix and match vehicle along with Chevrolet, my Cobalt has a Mitsubitshi transmission.

Mazda 3, Ford Focus, and Volvo S40 share a common platform, but each are developed separately. It is virtually certain that each vehicle shares some common parts.
