I have a 2005 Pacifica - 38,000 miles - and have not yet changed the tires or brakes. What's the general rule of thumb for life expectancy on tires and brakes? I think I'm pushing it??

I have a 1985 Chrysler Lebaron K car and it is in good shape except the power door lock switches are worn out, and I need new or rebuilt ones. Problem is that the Chrysler Dealer doesn't carry them anymore, and junkyards don't carry them either, and if they did, they may not be any better than the ones I have. Is there any clubs for Mopar stuff that would help out someone with a K car, since it really isn't a classic yet? I get the feeling that the diehard Mopar types would snob me with my lowly K car!

I'm a first time driver, this will be my first car. I was looking for something affordable (5 grand range) and nice. I stumbled across a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus LXi that a person is selling in my neighborhood for $4,400. It looks nice, and it loaded with all the extras (including sunroof). The only thing my parents are concerned about is the miles. It has 107,000 which they feel may be high.

Can anyone knowledgeable in cars tell me Chrysler's Reputation and quality? Is 107,000 a lot of miles in which the Transmission is going to break down soon, or does it still have some life left in it? I know it's impossible to say for sure, as every car is different, but in general if anyone could give me an idea.

Thank you.

When you close the doors they seem to just hang there, or if you wait they sometimes go back slowly. Most of the time they get caught in the doors ( front doors).
Does this mean they are unsafe?

I'm thinking we should. Let me tell you about yesterday:

I went to go to the bank to make a deposit, then on the way home the transmission went out in my van. I puttered all the way home at 5mph or less, while cars behind me honked and cut around me.

When I got home, I called the transmission shop (since a tranny is the only thing I can't work on) and the repairman told me my car isn't worth repairing.

I called another shop, and that guy will told me he cannot quote me a price until he has removed the transmission from the vehicle to inspect it...which will cost me $175 labor.

I told him he was a phallus, and he hung up on me.

Welcome to my world. So...does anyone here know how hard it is to swap out an A413 transmission on a Chrysler K-car? Maybe I can find a rebuilt one somewhere and put it in myself. I'm no stranger to car repairs. I can easily swap CV axles, replace motor mounts, and overhaul a simple engine while it's still in the vehicle.

Just wondered what the last year was that you could order a new Chrysler, Dodge, or Plymouth and have a 8 Track in dash style radio installed?

The last year I remember GM offering this was 1982 or 1983, as my Aunt had a new 1983 Cadillac Deville with a 8 Track AM/FM radio already installed.

So, does anyone know what was the last year Chrysler Corp offered the same thing?

Thanks.

This is a 3.5L, what happened was i was driving along and the battery light lit, the the check engine light lit, eventually my headlights started dimming, dash lights went dim, then eventually everything went dark, made it home, figured i try replacing the altenator since it seemed like the car was running just off the battery, changed the alt and checked the codes (codes listed above), Am i able to drive it around and get the battery charged up or should i just put it on a charger, dont want to be stranded, or is there something else wrong other then the altenator i should check out?? plz help. thx
