I have a 97 cavalier that I unfortunately totalled, but the motor is still good. I am looking into purchasing a 2001 cavalier without a motor and hoping to put mine in it. I just dont wanna buy it if it turns out they arent able to be swapped. Both cars are manual transmission... Thanks for the help in advance!!!

I have a auto. 1990 Chevy Camaro, I swapped the 305 for a carbureted 350, and everytime I drive it for more than about 15 min. it starts to overheat. It usually overheats the most when I'm in stop and go traffic but it also overheats when there is no traffic... it just takes longer. The water pump is good, I flushed the radiator, and I have a 160thermastat in it. But I am almost positive that the timing is off slightly because when we put the new engine in I didn't have a timing light, I know that the chevy 350 should be timed at 4 degrees before tdc but the guy that put my engine in also put in a "mild cam", and I don't know exactly what timing it should be at with a mild cam so I just timed it the best I could by ear, also at least one of the spark plug wires has a bad connection. Could this be causing it to overheat? What should the timing be for a chevy 350 with a mild cam? thanks

I am looking for a true performance truck, not a worker but a rider, half ton short bed, all other bells and whistles, preferably with the 4:10 gear in the rear. I enjoy being the stoplight bandit! as my father, who is deceased now was the GM of a pontiac, buick, gmc dealership, I no longer have access to the order criteria, by the way I am not a youngster by any means, just a individual that has had performance in his blood for almost his entire life, from drag cars--Bstock-- Bsports-- Dstock-- to E mp by switching manifolds, to the dirt tracks in a latemodel, three night a week racing, while going to college, working a fulltime job, and raising a family,, oh and I almost forgot one trip in an a-gas rail--in the 8's at about 160 at the time, along time ago, enough about me --- I want a new hot truck that is comparable--give me copo numbers, something off the beaten path, a oner if you will!!!!!

Ok initially I got quoted about $1000 dollars at 2 different places.... then I got refered to this other place, an auto parts place, which I went to and it was a large, dirty, seedy, redneck place but they quoted me for $465. $175 for to put in another used air condition compressor. Plus other things and labour so in total they want $465 to fix up my air condition... which is a lot less than the other places but still A LOT! and why was i told at the other places they couldn't put in used compressors in cars? Anyways should I go back to the redneck joint and go with them???????????? my car is a '98 malibu 3.1 with 200 000 kilometers.

Hello from New Orleans. I have a 2000 Chevy Tracker 2.0/4 cyl. The engine is leaking oil from a cracked piece just below and in front of the cover on top of the engine. Directly behind the belt wheels. What is that part? I have been told that it's the cam cover, timing belt cover, and all sorts of things. I don't no who to believe. Help! I'm a self employed painter and I'm about to lose a fortune if I don't get it fixed soon.

I just bought a 1999 Chevy Blazer (V6-Automatic) with 55,000 miles on it. The car overall is excellent except for the acceleration. Once you gain speed over 15 to 20 mph, the acceleration comes to a crawl almost. It's like it's a 4-cylinder engine all of the sudden. Passing on the highway is a struggle, and mountain hills are out of the question. The Blazer is equipped with Chevy's "Vortec 4.3 Liter V6", their bigger engine for this model, but it sure don't feel like it. Could this be because of a defective throttle sensor, or is it an engine problem.

305, 307, 327, 350, 400 small block, 400 big block, and the 454?

Myself, I like the 327.. but I also like the 400 small block boared out into a 406. I had one of those in my 76 Camaro street stock racecar and it was MEEEEAN. Lol.

Thanks to all that responded to my first question. I went and bought a refill kit and a rubber and o-ring sealant made by HC Refrigerant. Shortly after I attached/filled from the first can my compressor stopped cycling and cold air returned to my interior. I also added the leak stopper so I will just have to wait and see what happens.
