How do I turn off my daytime driving lights on a 2000 Chevy Malibu?

try pressing the dome override button on/off on/off 3 times.

I don't remember the button, but it's on the left of the steering wheel under the headlight switch. Press this button 3 times and they should turn off. If that doesn't work push the foot brake in like a few clicks before the car is started then start the car and that may also do the trick.

according to my s-10 manual you have to push the dome override button 4 times in 6 seconds and it will shut them off. Now if this works for the malibu i dont know. Some push the e-brake on click, but i dont do this b/c it turns on the brake light on your guage cluster and is annoying

It dosnt have this info cause you cant. The only way you will is install a aftermarket switch disonecctin the power from the lights and run it to the dash

You may not be able to. Some newer cars always have daytime running lights on, no matter what.

you could probably bypass that unit, and just turn the headlights into a regular switch... but drl's arent designed to get turned off. They are meant to be on whenever the car is on, thats why there is an insurance discount for having them.

try clicking the emergency brake just one click. on alot of chevy vehicles that will turn the day lights off. don't worry, engaging the e-brake one click won't engage the e-brake.

take it to the dealership...i had the same problem with a vw and all they did was turn off some chip next to the steering wheel
