Go to your local chevy dealer and ask for the Used Car manager and see if they might have an extra one laying around. A lot of times they have extras left over and ones that got lost and might be glad to help you out.

This sounds like it may be the Traction Assist System. My 04 Silverado owner's manual states, it will come on briefly when you turn the ignition to run. Actually this symbol look more like a tire then a square w/ a line thru it. This is the only symbol that is close to what you have described.

Check out the link below for an 04 Malibu owner's manual.

Good luck!

This light is the low coolant light. The coolant tank has the sensor built in.Please add coolant to this tank when the engine is cold.Add coolant to the full line on the side of the tank to make the light stay out. Please keep a eye on the tank for about a week.If the level drops have the cooling system checked for leaks.Hope this helps. You can have a chevy parts dept get a owners manual for you to help in the furture.

If you need the Chevrolet shop service manual, order from Helm, Inc, PO Box 07130, Detroit MI 48207 or call 1-800-551-4123. If you have the owners instruction book, the Helm order page is in back of the book. You can visit your Chevy dealer store and ask service if they have an old service instruction manual to view or purchase. A web site, www.myglink.com can help or the main source, wwwchevrolet.com or call 1-800-222-1020

Since you do not have a owners manual and i presume that is what you mean. Call or go by your local auto parts store and tell them what you need. They should be able to help you out.
